Chapter 1 - Done with the Good! (By Swatideep) (Thanked: 131 times)

Here comes the first chapter... Hope you enjoy...

This one will be a short story of maybe 5 or 6 chapters so fast and furious...

Enjoy...

Chapter 1 - Done with the Good!

Khushi was completely pissed off after hearing roadside people commenting on how wonderful family Arnav, Aarav and Sheetal made during the basketball match... For god sake, he is her husband and not father of his ex's son...

But only if her thick headed husband understands her insecurities and stop entertaining that witch? This Laad Governor needs to understand as a married man, he also has same rules that his spouse has...

Suddenly the realization dawned upon Khushi that being selfless, giving priority to others, caring for everyone and being nice wasn't helping her at all... In fact she might just lose what she has... Her family especially her husband might be, but she isn't blind not to see Sheetal is trying to achieve?

Family and now people around them calling him and his ex' with her son as a family was not her idea of her beautiful family! Their insensitive behavior wasn't helping... Everyone was so convinced Aarav is like Arnav, they might simply accept him as his son and then Sheetal too in their lives... No one will ever see her broken heart nor her tears! They don't even know how she feels, even her Arnavji... What the hell? Khushi was aghast with the reality around her... The basketball match and whatever happened in the court, it's a deadly wakeup call for her!

Her belief that her husband will protect her crumbled like a life in the basketball court! He just watched her and in fact mocked when she is getting insulted by his ex'! In few minutes, her world changed... How dare he to act so callous?

But her faith in Devi Mayya didn't let her break down so easily but emerge strong... So it is time for her to get in action... She reached home alone after visiting her favorite Devi Mayya during crisis... She was so done crying herself to sleep every night and watch being taken for granted... She washed her face and along with it she also washed off the blurriness in her life and her relaxed attitude... She is first time crystal clear about the next action plan in her life... She came down as if nothing has happened with her smile intact...

"Khushi, I need your help here..." Payal called Khushi...

"Jiji, what is it?" Khushi was cold with her sister too... But then her jiji had warned her about not involving into Sheetal's matter and keep her away...

"Khushi, I am feeling lot of nausea... Can you please check daal on gas?" Payal ran to washroom and Khushi suddenly mellowed down...

"Jiji, is it what I am thinking?" Khushi was really happy but wanted to confirm first...

"I hope so too... I missed my cycle for three weeks and yesterday we went for a blood test. Akash would be getting the reports anytime now..." Payal was super shy as usual...

"Jiji, no entry for you in the kitchen from today onwards... And hearty congratulations" Khushi hugged her jiji... After a long time they have a reason to be happy...

By then everyone came back home... Akash had gone to get reports directly and looked totally excited...

"I have an announcement to make everyone... We are expecting a baby..." Akash announced while hugging Payal and kissing her on her forehead... He couldn't hold the excitement any longer...

Raizada mansion went ecstatic... Everyone hugged Payal for such a wonderful news... After that everyone seated around the dining table for lunch and Khushi ordered sweets... Payal was about to go towards kitchen when Khushi stopped her...

"Arnavji, what did Di do when she was pregnant? I mean what was her routine like?" Khushi asked keeping her face very happy and excited without showing anyone her inner turmoil or agenda...

"What routine? I asked her to strictly follow her diet and multivitamins routine, walk and prenatal exercises and that's about it... She never stepped to do any other work..." Arnav specified proudly...

"See jiji, I knew Arnavji would give us exact direction. You are carrying a Raizada heir... So you better follow exactly what Arnavji explained just now... No entry in the kitchen or for any other work. Just focus on yourself and your baby from now on..." Khushi smiled at her first right step...

"I totally agree with Bhai and Khushiji... No excuses Payal... Your medicines and walks will be my responsibility" Akash immediately pitched in for his wife...

"And Mamiji, you will handle jiji's special diet and food during her pregnancy... Can you please do it since we have seen you doing it for Di plus I have no experience in this what so ever...? After all I am going to be maasi for the first time..." Khushi boasted while passing an important responsibility to Mamiji...

"Yes of course, I would love to treat Payal and my grand kid... Let Payal also see how well her mother-in-law cooks" Mamiji was totally excited. Of course they all knew Mamiji is a great cook but she is just very lazy at home and busy with kitty parties...

"Ok then all set, let me serve everyone lunch... Sheetalji, can you help me with the serving..." Khushi asked carelessly as if Sheetal helps around daily...

Sheetal was shocked... She didn't expect herself to be working or serving food... She was here to marry ASR by hook or crook and rule Raizadas... Or if possible throw rest of the Raizadas out...

"What? Don't tell me you don't know how to serve food? And by the way, you have been here in this house for 3 weeks... Do you still consider yourself a guest even now? You better start pitching in knowing how slow you are with finding your own apartment..." Khushi passed a sarcastic comment with a beautiful smile...

"Oh, HPji, there you are... Get the sweets first..." Khushi was completely casual. Even though Sheetal was taken aback that Khushi suddenly made her feel embarrassed in front of Raizada clan, Sheetal had to suck it up...

Sheetal got the dishes and served everyone while Khushi made sure to sit in her regular place right next to Arnav which Sheetal was trying to occupy these days, even though she has decided to give Arnav his own medicine... Ignorance...

Sheetal was fuming but couldn't do much...

"I hate this daal... And vegetable too..." Aarav as usual started complaining...

"What do you want then?" Sheetal asked immediately encouraging Aarav to grab attention towards him and his demands...

"Hold on Sheetalji, you are really encouraging bad habits of your son... Did you always cook again whenever Aarav demanded different dishes last minute?" Khushi asked keeping her face straight...

"No, no... He ate whatever I served. He usually likes all types of food..." Sheetal was stuttering again...

"Really, it's hard to believe since here all I have seen is him complaining every meal... Isn't it Aarav? When you can eat whatever is served in your own house, why can't you do the same here...? You are a guest here... If you keep throwing tantrums like this every meal, no one will ever like to invite you as a guest... You can throw tantrums at own house once a while but not when you are at someone else's house as a guest, it's very bad manners... People can question your upbringing and it will disgrace your mom, do you want that?" Khushi questioned in stern and authoritative voice...

Aarav nodded a no. Everyone silently heard Khushi's point of view...

"Last year Arnavji's cousin Ria Di and Ram jiju visited us with kids... Their kids were extremely well behaved for a billionaire's kids and always respectful towards servants and ate whatever was served to them. Isn't it Arnavji? It's high time we teach some manners to Aarav while he is under our roof... Arnavji, you remember how much fun Ritu and Raman were?" Khushi asked Arnav directly...

"Yeah, Ria and kids were such a pleasant surprise. Ritu and Raman were very well disciplined and so warm towards everyone... Sheetal, you really need to focus on Aarav's behavior..." Arnav mentioned while remembering Ritu and Raman... He also remembered how Ria and Ram jiju were strict...

Sheetal was completely embarrassed. She gestured Aarav to apologize... And Aarav did say sorry since he had no choice...

"No problem Aarav... We also realized one thing... You did eat whatever your mom cooked in your house before... So it tells us that you must be missing your mother's recipes and no wonder you were complaining... Sheetalji, from today onwards, you will make sure to cook for your own son... Just like you did before... We would hate to see him upset and misbehave at every meal, isn't it naniji?" Khushi made her next move with the same smile plastered on her face...

"So right Khushi bitiya, we all saw how Aarav complains and throws tantrums every meal but only you understood the underlined concern... You always take care of everyone and know what everyone needs... Sheetal, you better start taking care of your son... When I compare him with Ria's kids, I can say he really needs to improve on his behavior... My grandkids are so charming and well behaved..." Naniji is always proud her own family...

"Also less work for me and less drama at the dining table..." Mamiji passed a comment and everyone laughed...

"Ok naniji" Sheetal was fuming inside but she had nothing to say... Her own plans of making Aarav grab Arnav's attention all the time has backfired...

Khushi calculated her first three moves were right on dot... Making sure jiji is taken care during her pregnancy, Sheetal being asked to work and Aarav's arrogance under control... In fact she over achieved by making Mamiji take care of Payal jiji...

"Check, check and check... Phew, great start KKGSR..." Khushi patted her own back in her mind...

Chapter 2 – What goes around, comes around!

Arnav could see a change in Khushi’s behavior… But he is glad to see her smiling face rather than pale face every day and he did not ponder over much…

Khushi was keeping her stuff ready for the morning and Arnav was surprised to see her excited about something… Suddenly he felt left out…

“What’s going on Khushi?”  Arnav asked her unable to bare her ignorance…

“Oh Arnavji, did you forget, I am starting my classes from tomorrow. Just preparing for it” Khushi replied excitedly. She decided she would reply him as if nothing happened yet make sure to make him feel ignored. He badly needed his own medicine, Laad Governor deserves it for taking me for granted…

“Good night Arnavji… I have a long day ahead tomorrow…” With that Khushi switched off her bed side light and slept off…

And again Arnav missed his wife and her antics plus the love… They had been away from each other for 2 weeks now… Why can’t she just accept her mistake of DNA test and apologize, he thought…

Raizada mansion was big time hustle bustle early morning… Mami focusing on Payal and her special diet, HPji was busy making regular breakfast under Khushi’s instructions with menu written on the wall…

Sheetal came down last minute with an apologetic face…

“Sheetal, you can do better than that… Look at our Khushi bitiya… She has to join college today but she is taking care of whole house before going… She plans in advance, writes instructions and runs the whole house flawless… You are late when you have a school going kid… How about his breakfast, lunch box and schedule?” Naniji did not hesitate to show her concern and looked at her disgusted…

“Don’t worry Naniji, she has the luxury to work with her college friend at flexible hours… She can afford to go late unlike others… Plus she has luxury of using car and go with ASR… Not every employee gets that…” Both Arnav and Sheetal were stumped at Khushi’s comment.

Arnav looked up and saw Khushi casually smiling… Indeed what she said was right… He kept Khushi on her toes when she worked for him and in fact he was unfair and mean to her at times for coming like 5 seconds late… Yeah 5 seconds late, once he has shown her clock… How can he forget once he forced Khushi to come to office by auto in spite of Nani asking him to take her with him…? And here Sheetal is taking advantage of everything… She is staying in their house for so long, always comes late to office, delivers tasks late with some or the other excuse and when did he start tolerating this kind nonsense that too at work? Arnav was shocked with revelation…

“Nothing like that… Sorry naniji, I will get up early from tomorrow” With that Sheetal ran to the kitchen…

“For that you will have to stop going parties in the night…” Mamiji commented and everyone heard it…

While Arnav realized his mistake, he saw Khushi was casual… That made him feel even worst… He looked at her mesmerized… He realized she was looking completely different… She was wearing long flared jeans skirt with sleeveless red top… Her hair open and a slight makeup and those high heels… In all she looked stunning and so young.

“What?” She asked him when she realized he was checking her out…

“Nothing… You look great…” Arnav couldn’t help…

“Thanks Arnavji. Now that I am joining college, I thought to go back wearing my college attires… Makes it comfy and easy… Plus I don’t want to stand out…” She commented…

“Khushi bitiya, you look so beautiful… My blessings are always with you…” Naniji never stopped showing her extra love for Khushi…

“Khushi, come let me drop you…” Arnav offered her a ride.

“But Arnav, we need to drop Aarav to school before going to office and I am still making his lunch… I need another 20 minutes…” Sheetal tried to make him wait for her and forced Anjali to help her out.

“Sheetal, its AR Designs and not charity place that I will reach anytime for a mere employee… What did nani tell you? Manage your own schedule… Can’t you do simple things like enroll Aarav for school bus for automatic pickup and drop off? Do you realize now Khushi and Payal will also need cars for their schedule and Dr. Appointments? It’s high time you look into logistics for yourself. AR pays well to their employees…” Arnav was angry when he saw his Di helping Sheetal in the kitchen…

How come he never felt wrong when Sheetal and Aarav were taking advantage of Khushi and Payal? She was acting as if she is the owner of the house and both treating Khushi and Payal like trash… As soon as he saw his Di working for others, his blood boiled… Suddenly he felt terrible how badly he was failing in his own marriage…

Khushi was surprised at his outburst and felt happy on his realization but her happiness was short lived… She could immediately see what triggered his anger when she saw Di helping Sheetal… She felt hurt but did not show it… She acted as if she could care less…

“Did she give up on me already?” Arnav felt his heart sink with the thought…

“Khushi, you could have told me. I can always drop you…” Arnav was polite when he stopped in front of Khushi’s college…

“It’s ok Arnavji, you are always busy. Plus Sheetal and Aarav always need a ride so I can manage myself… No big deal…” Khushi’s casual behavior was getting onto his nerves…

“It is a big deal Khushi… You are my wife. You are my priority and responsibility before anyone else…” Khushi could first time feel the guilt in his voice…

“I am really glad that you feel your wife is also part of your responsibilities apart from family and friends… Bye for now… I am getting late… I will see you in the evening” Khushi hopped out of the car with a smile before he can say anything further…

Wow, she gave him right back again…

“Wow that was loads of fun… Oh, I so much miss my scooter… I would drive whole Lucknow in one day and even in Delhi I have driven…” Khushi entered in with bunch of friends… Arnav was fuming seeing her getting off from some guy’s bike who drove her back to RM. Arnav watched carefully and realized it was famous model Karan Singhania… He was surprised Khushi knows Karan and they looked like friends…

“Bye, see you all tomorrow…” Khushi waved and entered RM.

“Khushi, how do you know Karan Singhania?” Arnav asked curiously…

“Karan is Sia and Jia’s cousin. SJ are my buddies so Karan is also my friend and I met him many times before…” Khushi just smiled. Arnav was shocked and jealous. Khushi could easily read his jealousy, serves him right!

“And you came home on his bike?” Arnav asked Khushi sarcastically… He could not hold back his jealous streak and anger…

“What? What’s the big deal Arnavji…? He is a friend and I can always mingle with my friends’ right… You are my role model and every day you go to work and come back with your friend Sheetal… In fact she is your ex Arnavji…” Khushi replied casually… Be blunt with a very casual attitude was her new motto…

Arnav was taken aback… She was so right… If he can be so friendly and give ride to his ex every day in front of his wife, why can’t she go with her friends? Suddenly he hated himself for entertaining Sheetal…

That’s when Sheetal also walked in.

“Wow Khushi, skirt and all ha… you look great but so much like a teenager… Your friends sounded so teenager and immature…” Sheetal mocked Khushi in front Arnav purposely pointing to their age difference and calling her immature.

“Oh Sheetal, you sound so outdated and old… We call it young, hot and happening… You won’t understand it…” Khushi mocked Sheetal right back…

“By the way Sheetal, you were Arnavji’s batch mate at Harvard, right? So you must be like 28 or 29 years old now I guess. And knowing Aarav is 8 years now, you had Aarav at the age of 20 or 21 that too without marriage. And you are calling me and my friends immature, you must be surely joking right? Do you even know who his father is?” Khushi put her Sheetal in place with disgusted look and as usual her beautiful smile intact…

Suddenly all Raizadas especially Naniji and Mamaji who were sitting in the hall gave Sheetal disgusted looks…

“You and your generation so much sound like those crazy anti marriage folks… Don’t want to take up responsibilities or live up to expectations… Never mind my words Sheetal, but that sounds losers… I really love my generation much better… We take every challenge of life head on!” With that Khushi crossed over and walked inside the house leaving Sheetal fuming…

Even Arnav felt disgusted thinking Sheetal had Aarav when in college and she might not know who the father is… Wow, and she keeps judging the whole world… Ironic! He looked at Sheetal angrily…

“Seriously Sheetal, what were you thinking back then? You must be so stupid…” Arnav couldn’t help but comment… Sheetal had no choice but let it go for now and keep quiet…

“You will pay for this soon Khushi…” Sheetal promised herself confidently…

Chapter 3 – Khushi in Action! (By Swatideep) (Thanked: 133 times)

Thank you so much for all your likes and comments... Love them all...

Enjoy the next chapter...

Chapter 3 – Khushi in Action!

Khushi walked in to see Mamiji busy in the kitchen with Anjali and they were talking about something animatedly and laughing… It was a pleasant change to see Di smiling and enjoying herself cooking in the kitchen… Anjali Di helped out Mamiji to make some evening snacks and finish off cooking dinner.

Khushi had an urgent assignment at had to finish and submit… So she rushed to her room to complete it so she can come down too…

Sheetal who has come early from work to take care of Aarav and decided to pounce on this opportunity to show ASR how Khushi is making his Di work and earn Khushi his wrath… After all she needed to take revenge for the morning!

Dinner was almost ready. Khushi finished her work and came down for a cup of tea.

“HPji, badly need a cup of ginger tea. And maybe some snack” Khushi walked in to see Di and Mamiji still in the kitchen enjoying their day cooking while her sister sitting with Naniji and eating fruits… She liked the scene…

“Khushiji, why don’t you have those remaining fruits and snack from the box?” Anjali Di suggested her handing over the snacks.

Arnav and Akash were sitting with Nani at the dining table. HP prepared their coffee and served it along with tea to Nani and Khushi… Everyone else as well walked out of kitchen for snacks.

“Anjaliji, you had to cook for us today and help out Mamiji” Sheetal specifically mentioned knowing how angry ASR was this morning seeing his Di helping her out and blasted her. It was Khushi’s turn now, she thought…

“Oh come on Sheetal, it’s once a while that we are lucky to eat Di’s excellent recipes. Isn’t it Di? But this is cheating Di, I can see all items are favorite of jiji only… You and Mamiji are becoming completely partial” Khushi side hugged Anjali and teased her…

“But still Di has to work so hard…” Sheetal did not let go her point. She is in fact surprised how Khushi is using it her advantage.

“Don’t worry Sheetal, we had so much fun in the kitchen after a long time. But we left you some work to cook for you and your son…” Mamiji replied as she didn’t like negative comments from Sheetal especially when they are enjoying evening as a family.

“And Sheetal, very good point. Can I expect the same from you? Today morning you got up late and Di ended up helping you out. So make sure not to push Di do your work and I am glad you are concerned for her” Khushi warned Sheetal in no nonsense tone.

“And Naniji, I asked have OPji as well as his wife to help out from tomorrow onwards with overall c****s. Also requested the grocery shop to send us fresh cut vegetables daily so one less work. I don’t want Mamiji to stress out with so much work… And Di, you can help in the kitchen whenever you want but no pressure” Khushi concluded shutting Sheetal off completely.

“Mamiji also needs time for her beauty rejuvenations and kitty parties… After all she is equally hot and happening… By the way Mamiji, I booked you spa massage every Wednesday at 4 pm and facial once a month with your favorite Cynthia… It’s the only slot available so I booked it, hope you don’t mind…” Khushi made sure not to burden Mamiji suddenly and able to relax as well…

“Haw, how did you get Cynthia’s appointment for me? I have been trying for a year now… Khushi, you rock…” Mamiji was surprised and first time called Khushi, Khushi…

“I have few tricks on my sleeves Mamiji, you will enjoy… And Khushi sounds so stylish from you…” Khushi was glad to make Mamiji happy and first time called her by her name…

“Khushiji, it was really fun today. Mamiji and I had great time remembering our old days and the mess I made in the kitchen while learning cooking. I do get bored so this is great…” Anjali replied genuinely.

“Di, why don’t you join Arnavji in office? You are so good at work. Maybe just half day or something. I feel you should go out and start living… It’s high time we get back our Di which is so much fun and full of life… I did see glimpse of happy Di today!” Khushi put forward her thought without hesitation…

Everyone one looked at Di and Khushi. Even Arnav was surprised at Khushi’s bold statement… She is somewhere right… He saw Di happy after so many days and enjoying cooking.

“You want ASR’s Di to work?” Sheetal asked in a sarcastic tone…

“Why not? If ASR, Akash jiju themselves can work day in and out, why not family members? Sheetal, it’s high time you stop poking your nose in our family matters. As an outsider, you should know your limits” Khushi raised her voice to shut Sheetal again. This woman needs to understand her status, Khushi thought.

“Di, it’s not just about work. It’s about you facing the world with your head held high, keeping yourself occupied, meeting people and enjoy life… Just give it a thought…” Khushi said while sipping her tea.

“I would love to. Khushiji, but do you think, I can? I mean…” Everyone was shocked knowing Anjali wants to start work at AR…

“Come on Di, what to fear when Khushi is here? It’s decided then… You are going to office from tomorrow. Arnavji, please assign some post above you for Di in AR. And yes, if you bother her with your nonsense demands, you will have to face me… And Di, I will take you for shopping tomorrow later in the evening…” Khushi side hugged Di…

“Thanks Khushiji, orders accepted. I can’t believe I can work again… I am so excited and so happy. And Chote, follow Khushiji’s orders else I will complain to her about you…” Anjali also joined in…

Everyone laughed when Khushi was bossing around, taking decisions guiding family… Arnav felt immensely proud of her!

“My pleasure Di. I don’t know why we didn’t do this before? Akash, do you want to work with Di?” Arnav asked Akash winking at him…

“No way, she is another most horrible ASR when it comes to work… My wife being pregnant, I would prefer to work on my own and be flexible. Put Sheetal under her” Akash suggested winking back.

“Come on Akash, you love Di so much and you are Di’s equally favorite…” Arnav laughed and no body else understood what is going on…

“Oh come Bhai, she used to be a monster… Even you have had rough days not as bad as me but still. Leave me alone please… Let me live life… Trust me, Sheetal will have a great time learning… She badly needs it…” Akash whispered but others heard it too…

“Chote and Akash, you still call me monster? I am so nice but just a little strict, how dare you?” Anjali asked with fake anger…

“Not at work, Di…” Spat came a reply from Akash.

“Great then it’s decided… Di, join us tomorrow and Sheetal will assist you. She is new and has been assigned a project. She badly needs to jump start and I am too busy so you pitching in will help the project” Arnav confirmed and smiled back at Akash…

“But…” Sheetal tried to say something… How can I cling to Arnav now, this is going nowhere, Sheetal is hopping mad inside…

“Sheetal, let me warn you in advance. I am nobody’s friend at work. I hate latecomers and clumsiness at work so you better be prepared…” Anjali talked like a boss and complete business woman…

“Thank you Khushi Bitiya, I was always worried about Anjali sitting at home whole day depressed. But you have solution for all problems. Because you truly care for everyone… You are the elder daughter-in-law I always dreamt for our Chote… And I am happy for Anjali Bitiya…” Nani put her hand on Khushi’s head and blessed her… Arnav and everyone were proud of Khushi…

“I can very well manage kitchen so don’t worry about it…” Mamiji encouraged Anjali to join office.

“Di’s springing back into life, check… Mamiji happy check, great job Khushi… Maybe Arnavji does not realize it but Di is better off living her own life to the fullest, bounce back into real world and move on in her own life… And she will find true love and her own family instead of investing emotions on Sheetal and her kid who can be deceiving…” Khushi patted her back as usual…

Khushi had enough positive energy to keep her family together, motivated and focus on right people! She was back to enjoying her Uno numero position in the family and how family looks up to her for the solutions of any small or big problem! Phew, another one bites the dust!

Sheetal was burning with jealousy, how Khushi is again center of attention for Raizadas and control is slipping out of her hands…

Chapter 4 – Shopping Disaster for who? (By Swatideep) (Thanked: 156 times)

Wow so many comments and likes... I am so overwhelmed... Thank you all for appreciating this story...

I am super excited with all your comments and decided to focus on this story while putting "Master Chef" on back burner...

I won't disappoint you, I promise and will provide you daily updates...

Still sticking to my original plan of making it a short story but added few chapters... But this really means long updates which is better...

I know we all love ARSHI stories on Sheetal track so sit tight and enjoy reading.

Chapter 4 – Shopping Disaster for who?

“Sorry, got late at college Di but give me 5 minutes and let’s go…” It was already 6 pm when Khushi came back… Khushi came back wearing a beautiful cream and marron combination Anarakali dress that suited her pale complexion and her slim body…

“Khushi, you look so gorgeous…” Anjali couldn’t help but appreciate naturally beautiful Khushi.

“Khushi, what would you recommend? Should I buy western formal or Indian formals?” Anjali was bit confused about her dressing choice for work… She did wear western in the past…

“What does she know about fashion? I mean she always wears only Indian clothes… Don’t worry, I will come with you…” Sheetal gave a sarcastic smile to Khushi…

“Exposing yourself by wearing short dresses is not fashion Sheetal… Not very tasteful either. Anyways Di, go with the dresses that you feel confident with. Maybe use combination… Use few formals when you have foreign delegates and choose Indian dresses or saris for day to day wear… What did you wear when you went to office before?” Khushi asked casually ignoring Sheetal totally.

“I did wear western but I do feel most comfortable in saris these days…” Anjali admitted.

“Di, you are in India and that too in your own office. So feel free to wear what you want. And let me remind you, 70% of women wear saris in India so no big deal… We can buy few Anarkali dresses too after you try… I am sure you will look gorgeous…” Khushi encouraged Di…

“Jiji, are you coming? SJ and Karan were asking for you and are looking forward to meet you… By the way they want to congratulate you personally about the baby news…” Khushi asked Payal…

“Not today Khushi, I feel too tired and sleepy… I will take rest…” Payal politely refused.

“Maybe invite them all at home so they can meet our family as well” Payal suggested…

“That’s a great idea… Why didn’t I think about it before?” Khushi squealed in happiness.

“Di, you know what let me ping SJ, they are shopaholic and have capacity to reach any mall in Delhi as soon as they are invited for shopping. Trust me, it will be fun… In fact they helped me pick some latest trends for college including long skirts and few jeggings apart from my regular Indian dresses…” Khushi messaged SJ…

Akash and Arnav also returned from the office by then… They were pleasantly surprised to see their Di being so serious and wanting to jump in at work so seriously…

“Khushi, how do you know Karan Singhania? You never mentioned him before…” Anjali asked curiously. Karan was a very popular face on TV and a model…

“Di, SJ’s dad used to work in a national bank in a senior managerial position… When we were in school 8th grade, their dad was transferred to Lucknow and they were in Lucknow for 5 years and we studied together and lived in the same neighborhood… I gave them the nickname SJ… SJs are also Singhania and Karan being their first cousin and older brother. Karan is born and brought up in Delhi but he used to visit them during vacations and we all got along really well…” Khushi explained.

“Then later on, uncle decided to settle in Delhi because his elder brother, Karan’s dad insisted that family will be together. Karan treats SJ as real sisters because he does not have siblings so do SJs… They are very close knit family… SJ and I reconnected after I came to Delhi, via internet and emails... Now we are back as one group after being in the same college… Karan is always with his sisters so I also got connected with him…” Khushi concluded.

“Wow, nice… Always nice to have good friends around…” Di commented…

“Di, SJ will reach the mall directly. Let’s go” Khushi was really excited to go shopping with her besties and Di.

“Di, I will drive you to the mall…” Arnav suddenly felt insecure and possessive about Khushi. He would rather be with her than Karan dropping them…

How much ever Khushi hated, Sheetal forcefully tagged along and was trying to get Aarav with her too…

“Sheetal, sit back with Di… Khushi will sit in the front with me… And why are you taking Aarav along? It’s week days. Doesn’t Aarav have any homework?” Arnav asked her in a typical ASR tone…

“Sheetal, you need to be more focused on Aarav… This is adults’ time to go out for quick shopping that too little late in the evening. You should not encourage kids like that and they should follow their own routine” Anjali also felt Sheetal needed to grow up and be responsible adult as a mother of 8 years old.

“I told you mom, I have homework…” Aarav too was mad since he was enjoying his project work.

“Ok, go in. I will come back after shopping…” And she hopped in the car next to Anjali. Arnav, Khushi and Anjali all three did not like her behavior and ignored her…

As usual they got royal treatment at the shops with ASR accompanying them… They were shown exclusive collections be it saris, dresses or western formals…

“Khushi, look for dresses for yourself too. You are going to college and you will need trendy outfits for yourself too…” Arnav sat next to her close and pushed her to check few dresses… Khushi suddenly fell forward but Arnav held her by her waist…

They had an eye lock losing track of where they are… Sheetal was fuming while Anjali loved to see romantic side of her Chote… Anjali had to cough to bring them both back to the reality… SJs and Anjali laughed at their expense…

“Di, try these two dresses plus these saris and formals… We will wait outside the trial room” Khushi picked few trendy collections with the help of SJ for Di.

“ASR, they are busy. Let’s go and check few shirts and shorts for Aarav!” Sheetal trying to grab Arnav’s attention to her, wanted to take him away from others and shop with him alone… She tried to pull him with her by holding his hand…

Sheetal saw Arnav standing there focused in one direction… He was lost in Khushi talking to SJs animatedly and holding a beautiful maroon, red dress wanting to try it after Di…

“What the? No way… Let me see what Khushi is doing” Arnav walked towards SJ and Khushi… He had enough of Khushi always being busy, he somewhere felt she is ignoring him after their fight… He was equally tired of ignoring and staying away from Khushi…

“Gorgeous dress Khushi, try it. I am sure you will look your usual beautiful…” Arnav said. Khushi was surprised he walked over to her leaving Sheetal behind… She was feeling so jealous and wanted to strangle Sheetal for holding his hand and trying to take him somewhere…

“Oh you are here? I thought you were going with Sheetal somewhere?” Khushi couldn’t help but show her anger…

“No Khushi, I was giving you girls’ privacy but I am here with you. Go on and try this one as well…” Arnav handed her a long dress in midnight blue and white combination…

“Thanks” Khushi calmed down a bit seeing the western dress Arnav chose for her… It was an exquisite piece.

“Khushi, you look your usual in red dress because we see you daily in Indian attire but you look hot in the blue one… ASR has great choice…” SJ were pleasantly surprised to see Khushi and Arnav could not take his eyes off her…

“How is this dress ASR?” Sheetal as usual was clinging to Arnav…

Arnav was still lost in Khushi and could see her face crest fallen after hearing Sheetal…

“Arnavji, it’s ok. We girls will figure it out… Not too sure about this dress.” Khushi was finding hard to control her nerves watching Sheetal clinging to him and spoiling her mood… Though she was not showing her inner feeling and acted as if she didn’t care…

“Are you kidding me Khushi?” Arnav completely ignored Sheetal and walked towards Khushi and held her both shoulders…

“You have no idea how amazing you are looking… We must buy both dresses and I have another dress and few accessories in mind. Come let me show you…” Arnav was checking her out 360 degree while his hands roaming on her bare shoulders and Khushi turned red blushing…

Anjali saw her brother with Khushi and their lovey dovey moment…

“Chote, you guys join us later in the food court… We will go ahead and order the food now… Don’t worry, Mamiji is aware we are eating out today” Anjali winked at SJs to accompany her and forced Sheetal too…

Sheetal felt insulted that Arnav did not even bother to hear her or look at the dress she chose for herself…

“What does he find in that Khushi…? This behanji is turning out to be much more difficult and I underestimated her…Oh god!” She thought…

“Arnavji, I think I am good… Two dresses are enough” Khushi tried to stop Arnav shopping for her… Materialistic things never attracted her and she was still mad at his behavior…

“Not so soon Khushi, try these two… Go in or I am coming with you in trial room” He pushed Khushi and she has no choice…

“You look gorgeous in green… This shade is similar to the sari you wore for Akash’s Sangeet ceremony so I knew it…” Arnav was sure but more satisfied seeing her in the green dress and gave her thumbs up…

“You still remember?” Khushi asked him surprised…

“It’s about you Khushi, how can I ever forget? And then our dance… I can always close my eyes and feel you in my arms…” He mentioned casually… Khushi had shivers all over her body… They both are missing each other so much…

She tried one last peach dress and they both moved to counter…

“What is in those extra bags Arnavji?” Khushi asked curiously. Arnav had couple more bags in his hand…

“It’s a surprise Khushi, Have patience…” He winked at her…

“Laad Governor” Khushi muttered and forgot completely she is still mad at him and needs to teach him a lesson… She is not supposed to give in easily this time…

“You always melt like a chocolate when he is romantic and forget the whole world… Be strong Khushi”, her heart chided her…

“Wow so many bags, what did you buy Khushi?” Anjali asked teasing her.

“Nothing Di, just 4 dresses… And then Arnavji bought something, I don’t know…” Khushi replied innocently…

“Oh Chote, I am sure it’s for me…” Anjali purposely winked at him, teasing him and pulled the bag to see what it contains…

“Seriously Di, can’t I buy something special for my wife and keep it a secret? Our family is sure crazy…” Arnav was irritated and stopped her from opening the bags…

“Oh I see. Great going Chote… Khushiji, I really like the night dress… Blood red, Chote’s favorite color I guess on you! You have turned my Chote into a romantic puppy…” Anjali did hi-fi with Sia and Jia and they all laughed out loud…

Khushi was totally embarrassed and turned deepest shade of red… Arnav stayed casual, I don’t care mode… But they both were happy to see Anjali in fun mood…

“Stop it Di, stop teasing now… And thanks for ordering pasta for me and chat for Khushi…” Arnav diverted everyone’s attention to food…

“Sia and Jia, I will drop you on our way. So relax and enjoy the food” Arnav assured SJ when he saw them trying to reach out Karan… Khushi smiled at him, she liked him taking initiative…

Sheetal was ready to jump and die, rather than see Arnav doting over his wife and totally ignoring her…

Chapter 5 - Anjali at AR & Someone’s Worst Nightmare! (By Swatideep) (Thanked: 140 times)

So excited with all your feedback and likes... I am taking extra time to write another chapter real quick... Thanks for motivating and promoting this story... Love you all...

Enjoy the next chapter...

Chapter 5 - Anjali at AR & Someone’s Worst Nightmare!

Morning became even more hectic at Raizada Mansion after Anjali decided to work at AR during morning hours from 9 am to 3 pm.

Arnav planned to drop Khushi to college and then go to office. So Anjali decided to commute with Akash. She hated to reach late even worse than Arnav. It is in their genes since their mom taught them to be disciplined in life and value time…

Sheetal not wanting to irk Anjali Di and be in her bad books, got up early at 6 am. It was crazy for her considering she has never done it before… She got ready herself and made sure Aarav is ready too.

She has never cooked much before, so it was a daunting task for her to cook. Especially for a kid, since she has no idea… She has either given him readymade food or asked him to eat paid lunch at school…

She tried making toasts and burned them… Somehow managed it in the second round. Then made grilled cheese sandwich for Aarav’s lunch… She was exhausted already…

“What is this Sheetal? Where are fruits or vegetables? Is plane sandwich even allowed in school?” Mamiji asked Sheetal curiously when she sat for the breakfast… Mamiji was sure Sheetal lied about cooking for Aarav when she saw her struggling to make basic toast or sandwich in the kitchen… What else could she be lying, Mamiji’s detective mind went on high alert…

“What? I don’t know…” Sheetal said sheepishly…

“Mom, we are asked to bring roti and sabji or healthy food for lunch…” Aarav informed her…

“Let me make something quickly” She went back to kitchen again and cursing her fate… She barely managed to make two rotis and some veggie… By then Arnav, Khushi, Di and Akash all had left…

By the time Sheetal could get a taxi, drop Aarav to school and then go to office, she was late by almost 20 minutes.

“Sheetal, is this the time to come to office? Woman, you need to give importance to work… Rules are same for all employees. Your half day will be cut for today…” Anjali informed Sheetal as soon as she entered office… Sheetal was embarrassed like hell.

“Ok Di” Sheetal acknowledged politely.

“This is office Sheetal. You better call me Anjaliji at work just like others…” Sheetal realized why ASR and Akash joked about working under Anjali yesterday. She is a different person at work, nowhere close to mild and caring person at home…

“Get me the Angels project file in 15 minutes. ASR has assigned that project to me and you will work under me…” Anajali ordered Sheetal.

“Ok Anjaliji” Sheetal rushed to her desk…

“Wow, Angels project seems very interesting. Can you provide me the mile stones and progress reports and graphs providing insights on the project? Do you see any concerns in the project so far or forecast any hurdles, risks and mitigation plans? Provide me that too, I would like to review those today and see if any risks in terms of materials which we can aggressively tackle in advance…” Anjali ordered Sheetal to provide data facts…

Sheetal was shocked to hear Anjali fluently talking business language and demanding exact details on project and her structured way of working.

“We are little behind on the target. But we are in very initial phase of the project so it should be ok. We are yet to work on risks to provide any details” Sheetal replied coolly.

“Who the hell says it is ok to be delayed in any project at AR? When did this ever happen in AR Ms. Kapoor? And you do not have risks data sheet yet… Is this how you lead a project?” Anjali asked Sheetal sarcastically. Anjali hated Sheetal’s casual attitude towards work that too at AR Designs. The company where her brothers work so hard day in and day out with their sweat and blood, this woman has guts to say it’s ok to be late in deliverables? Unbelievable, she thought…

“Ms. Sheetal Kapoor, all project details and fact sheets in two hours. I would need exact reasons for the delays, additional factors delaying the project deliveries along with fast tracking tasks in next phase to overcome delay. Yes and I need that risk management plan as well. Now get going…” Anjali threw her out…

“Wow, this woman is something… How did she manage to get into Harvard? She has no clue how to manage her kid, the schedules at work or at home, her son’s homework or food… She is equally clumsy and lethargic at work… How did she even survive ASR? Anjali was first time surprised when she observed Sheetal closely. She is not good or anywhere close to what she pretended…

“ASR, let’s go out for Italian today, your favorite?” Sheetal barged in to Arnav’s office and was disappointed to see Akash and Anjali already there with lunch from home…

“Sheetal, you carry on. Since Di has joined, we will follow our old tradition to eat lunch together and strategic level discussions” Akash informed Sheetal about their lunch meeting from now on since Arnav was still on call…

“What the hell? How will I spend quality time with ASR now? First Khushi and now Anjali… Oh god, these Raizada women are so annoying” Sheetal walked out grumpily.

“Chote, how did you manage to work with Sheetal? No offense, but she is so clumsy and unorganized… So not fit for AR Designs, only here because she is your friend… But this is not how we work at AR, do we?” Anjali couldn’t help but pass direct opinion about Sheetal.

“Di, I felt so too. But since you and Khushi had asked, I gave her a job and I expected her to learn fast… I have been so busy with other 4 projects that I gave her that project because it’s totally new. I am glad you joined. Fix her or fire her, not my problem. She is now your employee” ASR could care less.

“So much for your close friend Bhai?” Akash mocked Arnav…

“What friend? She was merely my friend in college… But with the Harvard tag, I thought she must be good at work but clearly did not manage to rise over Di’s passing meter… She is good at designs but does not look like meant for any higher positions beyond a designer. Di, it’s you call.” Arnav clarified…

“Mere a friend?” She keeps talking about your friendship as if she was the only one you ever talked or mingled with in college days…” Anjali was surprised at Arnav’s mere friend remark where as Sheetal portrayed a different picture at home in front of Raizada family…

“Oh come on Di, you both know my whole group. Did I ever mention Sheetal before or did you ever see her in our get together ever or in my college pics?” Arnav replied carelessly…

“Bhai, it’s time for Singhania meeting. It’s 5 minutes to 1 pm and they would be walking in any minute…” Akash reminded Arnav…

“What a wonderful lunch though. After like ages… Di, we really missed you. Thanks to Khushi for sending lunch from home… And we will continue old tradition of management level discussions whenever we three are in office at lunch, so no one else is allowed… It’s so much fun…” Akash honestly appreciated Anjali being present at AR and side hugged her... She has her own aura and charming personality and skills to handle business with panache…

“Yeah, yesterday I casually mentioned Khushi how Nani used to send lunch and we used to have fun during lunch time… She is such a sweetheart, she immediately made sure to send lunch even though she herself is at college…” Anjali is equally fond of Khushi…

“Yeah, I missed this too but glad to be here now” Anjali was still lost about the contrast images of the friendship created by Arnav versus Sheetal…

“Sheetal, have you ever handled any projects before? Or have you been doing only designs?” Anjali asked Sheetal honestly concerned about her understanding on project management.

“I just focused on designs and not really worked on projects” Sheetal had to accept truth after she fell flat on her face and was unable to deliver intricate project details. She has no clue.

“I will have to assign Ramesh as the Project Lead from tomorrow onwards. Hand over all files to him today itself. You will be moved to work under Soniya to who is the lead designer for this project. Then we will see how you perform. Your salary also will be reduced according to your new role of a designer. Is that clear Sheetal?” Anjali asked her.

“Yes, Anjaliji” Sheetal replied fuming inside… She was literally demoted in one day after Anjali took over the project. Needless to say even her pay package might get reduced drastically! She is worse than Akash and ASR, no compromises when it comes to work ethics and Sheetal got firsthand experience…

“Sheetal, make sure to perform well as a designer now. All the best. AR is our company and we treat it with utmost respect and never take it lightly or underperform. We do not tolerate anything below than the best… I am giving you one more chance!” Anjali concluded and emailed changes to HR with cc to Sheetal…

Akash and Arnav were shocked was an understatement but agreed to Di immediately… And they remembered their rules and ethics, never mix business and personal relations! There is a reason why AR Designs has been to top for years… They were harsh critics of each other to bring out the best and thrived… And who can argue with Anjali’s 6th sense in business? She is the boss and had bailed out her brothers many times in crisis during initial days! She would never take any biased decisions…

Arnav and Akash were proud of Anjali… She didn’t look rusty at all in her business skills and in fact making decisions and changes in project team from day 1!

“Anjali, just wait and watch… Let me make ASR fall in love with me and make him accept Aarav as his son, you will be the first one out the door along with that Khushi!” Sheetal cursed Anjali like crazy in her mind…

“That idiot Aarav, I have to pick him from school. And if I go now, Anjali will fire me… Whose worst face did I see first thing today?” Sheetal was already in foul mood. She bit her tongue realizing she saw herself in the mirror first due to her eyes itching…

“Can you please enroll him for school bus pick up and drop off?” Sheetal was desperate.

“In your area, we pick up kids half an hour earlier. So he should be outside by 7.30 am. Plus you will have to pay for full month even though you are starting service 10 days later. Will it work?” The school bus pickup coordinator asked.

“Yes, that’s not a problem. Please arrange for pickup and drop off from tomorrow onwards…” Sheetal took steps to fix some situation.

“Oh god, I will have to wake up even early and make sure Aarav sleeps early as well. It means less time with ASR at home too but I guess for now let me focus on saving my job… If no job, I will be thrown out of RM as well… Let me get serious here…” She again looked at Anjali’s cabin while Ramesh doing some presentation and she started working hard for a change…

Chapter 6 - Khushi Shows Arnav the Mirror! (By Swatideep) (Thanked: 149 times)

I am so glad you all are loving this story so far... Yes, Khushi and Anjali are not cry babies in my story like in the TV serial... They will never be...

I am not sure why Indian TV serials tend to show all Indian women so cry babies and giving in for the ****... I felt that IPKKND would have been million times better with Sheetal Track...

Never mind... This is my third attempt to show Khushi as a stong woman with substance... Here Khushi represents all of us - Smart, beautiful, talented and caring who takes challenges head on with a resolve...

Dedicated this chapter to you all and me! So have fun and enjoy...

Chapter 6 - Khushi Shows Arnav the Mirror!

It’s almost weekend! Khushi and even Anjali were looking forward to it… Anjali was pestering Khushi to do a joint spa massage session and have fun and plan to take Payal as well!

“Maybe over the weekend Di… We will steal Mamiji’s precious appointment with Cynthia…” Khushi joked and Mamiji smiled at her…

“Sure Khushi, anything for my daughters…” Mamiji replied shocking Khushi to the core… Khushi felt overwhelmed and hugged her tight…

Khushi became fully aware that slowly Raizadas are seeing real Sheetal, she is nowhere close to sophisticated, intelligent and smart woman she portrayed when she entered RM… Her farce was almost over for the Raizada family but Sheetal was still living in her bubble… Naniji anyways never approved of Sheetal knowing she is single mom before marriage and her over exposing dressing sense…

Anjali herself is a very sorted, smart and organized woman and once she took the leap, there is no turning back… She always loves Khushi even before she married her Chote, for her smartness, simplicity and decision making capacity… She did not like anything average and she felt Sheetal has been nothing but deceiving…

In fact Khushi could see Anjali and Mamiji avoided Sheetal and entered the kitchen… Anjali asked Mamiji if she needs help in the kitchen while enjoying coffee made by Mamiji…

Payal and Akash jiju were busy with themselves… Laad governor is busy reading some magazine and Sheetal and Aarav are trying to hover over him…

“ASR, can we play chess or some other board game? You, me and mom?” Aarav asked Arnav looking at Sheetal… Sheetal smiled back at him…

“Not now Aarav, I am tired from work and want to sit with Nani and Mamaji… Khushi, can you get me my coffee? Can you make it please and not HP?” Arnav requested his coffee…

“Arnavji, relax for 5 minutes and I will get you your favorite coffee” Khushi nodded smiling inwardly and walked towards the kitchen…

Khushi saw Sheetal forcing Aarav to finish his homework faster and sit with ASR… Sheetal was pushing Aarav to sit with ASR and gain his attention… Only if her thick headed husband sees the reality around him, she thought… It would be very soon, she knew…

Just then Khushi’s cell buzzed. She read the message and announced about her going out with her friends…

“Di, don’t assume I am not eating the dishes made by Mamiji and you. You know, I have a big appetite. I will eat some and then go… Let me go get ready…” She was excited for a night out with her age friends…

“Khushi, how can you go when Mami and Di has cooked for all of us? And where are you going? Did you ask me or Naniji?” Arnav was already angry but controlled his anger… His mind got diverted seeing how beautiful, scratch that hot and ****y Khushi looked simple red and black long sleeveless dress with a cardigan…

“Oh come on Arnavji, I am going to eat a little as I already told them. But it’s not first time someone has gone out to eat after food is ready… Remember you yourself took Aarav for a pizza when I served the dinner on the table the other day, spoiling that kid and breaking family tradition to eat dinner together whenever possible… Then why stop me? And plus everyone just informs and goes out, isn’t it? You usually just inform while walking out the door or many times I get to know from Naniji or Di. So no big deal, right? Anyways everyone was at the table when I told about going out with my friends… Let me also enjoy one evening with my friends, my age group, so called immature and naïve people in your world! I guess, I am entitled to enjoy one evening without being judged all the time…” She smiled sweetly while passing comments she had to hear from Sheetal in front of her husband in the past…

“If you need to know about your double standards and hypocrite behavior from my mouth, here it is” Khushi thought… He definitely needed that final push…

“Stop being grumpy always like an old man, Arnavji… It is a great day considering Di has started to work and brought a major positive change in her life… That itself calls for big celebration… Never mind, I will arrange to go out tomorrow with family… Let’s surprise Di. Look at the bright side, why are you always sulking? Come on, smile…” She gave him a bright smile and walked out the door…

Arnav was completely taken aback with the latest changes in Khushi! She was smiling lot more yet very aggressive in her demeanor to put people in place and taking decisions… Not that he didn’t like her standing up for herself and family, but he felt many steps behind her, always trying to catch up…

What did she call him, grumpy old man, always sulking? She is so right, he is always finding faults in her, ignore and be angry… She on the other hand always has solutions, be it Payal’s pregnancy care, her studies, house c****s, making Di busy and extra help for Mamiji… She is taking care of it all…

And she is right! He always informed his Di about his whereabouts but not necessarily his wife… Couple of times he went to events by informing his Di. But he forgot to inform his wife especially when Sheetal was accompanying him!

And you kept quiet when Sheetal called her immature and childish on basketball court and even the other day… Instead of teaching her basketball, you ignored her and chose to play with the person who insulted her, like seriously? his heart chided him… Today she is going with her friends and you are jealous! You are 24 * 7 surrounded by your ex’ and her son who is carbon copy of you, how she must be feeling?

“I must do something about this Sheetal and Aarav. With everyone getting busy at home, we cannot entertain guests for so long… And why is that Sheetal not getting her apartment soon? She was supposed to be here for 2 days and she seems to be in no hurry?” Arnav was getting angry…

He requested HP to serve his dinner in his room pretending he has some urgent call… It was 11 pm and he could hear Sia, Jia and Khushi walking in while Karan was still in the car… Arnav’s blood boiled thinking Karan spent whole evening with his Khushi!

“When did Karan become your age Khushi to party with him?” Arnav knew Karan was just a couple of years younger than him so easily five years older than Khushi!

“Oh Arnavji, Karan just behaves our age… Immature yet respectful to people around, believes in fairness and freedom for all… Easy going and fun to be around… So we took him with us…” She could see Arnav immediately ran his hands through his hair in frustration, brought them down to his sides and fisting his hands in anger…

“Just kidding Arnavji… It was a girls’ night out… Karan just joined last few minutes and was our chauffer for tonight since SJ drink alcohol… You seem to be too much interested in Karan…” Khushi replied laughing controlling her storm within…

He realized she is always smiling these days while slapping the truth to everyone’s face especially his… First time it really hurts him the most to see how deep her pain has been all these days due to his ignorance and anger… Every single time she smiled, he felt more guilt realizing her relentless efforts to hide her true feelings behind her smile…

“If it hurts her so much, I am in pain too… Why can’t she simply sort out DNA issue instead of denying it, She is the one who didn’t trust me after all” Arnav is still sulking over it…

Yes he failed to realize his storm was nothing compared to the turmoil of emotions Khushi has been running through all these days, the day Sheetal walked into their lies to be precise… She almost drowned in those insecurities and insults before she woke up to take control…

“I am so tired Arnavji, let me sleep… I have few special classes tomorrow morning…” Khushi picked up a night dress and was about to step inside the bathroom…

“Are you ignoring me Khushi?” Arnav asked angrily holding her hand and pulling her to him… She ended up hitting his chest hard and looked at him straight into his eyes…

“Excuse me Arnavji, I thought you were the one who is expert at it” Came a casual reply but again with a smile and no sign of pain on her face… He hated her smile by now… She is better off fighting back and angry at him than the fake smile, he knew it…

Khushi made sure neither to discuss the DNA report again nor discuss his ignorant behavior towards her unless he digs it and tries to mend things between them… Else she will wait and let him face her ignorance too until he figures out the truth!

“That is because I was angry at you for not trusting me and doing DNA test behind my back…” Arnav justified himself and unknowingly his voice raised due to frustration…

“Practice what you preach Arnavji… Isn’t it ironic Arnavji, you expect me to trust you but you don’t trust me at all...” Khushi replied politely with a smile…

“When did I not trust you?” Arnav asked her confused…

“Always, but right now, let’s stick to the point we are discussing for now, the DNA report… What did I reply to you regarding that DNA report?” Khushi asked him calmly yet in an authoritative tone.

“That you did not do any DNA test…” Arnav specified.

“Exactly Arnavji, did you believe me when I clearly told you that I did not do any DNA test? Instead, even today you are stuck with blaming me and ignoring me… As if you always need some reason to be angry at me and ignore me… If I would have been in your place, I would have immediately checked the report with the hospital and tried to find out who really did the DNA test and why?” Spat came a reply… Khushi was on a roll as usual…

Arnav was rooted to the spot… She is so right… He missed the boat completely. Khushi never lies and she right from the beginning clearly said she never did any DNA test, he should have checked with hospital to find out who really did it… Why didn’t he trust her when he expects her to trust him…? He did the same before also with Shyam and still has not learned his lesson…

“Good Night Arnavji…” Khushi knew Arnav has work cut out for himself now…

“Aman, I need you to check and validate a medical report for me tomorrow. Also hire a top private detective to look into the entire situation properly and provide report in a day or two…” Khushi could clearly hear Arnav firing instructions over phone from the pool side…

“Laad Governor in a fix… Check… Family recognizing Sheetal’s true face by themselves… Check… Phew…” Khushi felt relaxed and calm…

“Let the Laad Governor do his job now and have sleepless night while I enjoy my sleep after a long time. Laad Governor in action, better late than never…” She smiled looking at Arnav still on phone calling the hospital now… Soon she fell into a deep slumber with a smile on her face!

Chapter 7 – The Bitter Truth! (By Swatideep) (Thanked: 152 times)

Thank you for all the likes and comments... Love them all...

Here you go with the next chapter... Enjoy...

Chapter 7 – The Bitter Truth!

Next day Raizada Mansion saw Arnav and Khushi leaving early because Khushi has extra class…. Sheetal struggling to take care of her son’s needs and then go to office, manage by her own without Raizada luxuries…

Arnav was restless whole day and was eagerly waiting for the report from detectives. Knowing ASR is involved, the detective company used all their resources immediately to provide report late evening, the same day. Rana, the top most and best detective was in charge of ASR’s case.

“ASR, here is your report about DNA tests and other things around it…” The private detective, Rana handed him the report file while Aman stood there curious to see ASR’s reactions.

“First when we enquired at the hospital, they confirmed Mrs. Khushi Raizada did the tests… But interesting fact was when we tried to cross verify with her pic, no one really recognized her or recalled seeing her before or interacting with her… So we showed them all Raizada women pics along with Sheetal Kapoor and they recognized Sheetal doing the DNA test and asking to send out the report to RM directly under your wife’s name… Sorry for using pictures of your family but it was needed” Rana started explaining without any delay.

“So we dug more about this lady Sheetal Kapoor… She has defaulted bank loans, many credit card frauds and some money stealing from her last job in London… So clearly looks like she is after your money ASR and using this kid to her advantage… Turns out she is up to some major planning with her son whom she adopted three months ago and is training him to behave like you… Maybe she wants to pass that kid as your son being your girlfriend in the past as she boasts everywhere and blackmail you for money. Even the DNA test was done against him and you, the results are negative in original report and then reports were manipulated after she paid money. Manipulated report with positive DNA match has been sent to your home… So it seems to be her clear intention. This file has paper proof on most of her local crimes while I should be able to get you proof on cases in UK about her frauds and run cases” Detective provided the full report…

Arnav was shocked and couldn’t stand straight as if the earth crumbled beneath his feet…

“Wow… And like a fool, I was adding fuel to the fire by spending time with her and ignoring my wife… So what if I was angry, why did I even spend a minute with her?” Arnav just hated himself that moment for getting fooled by Sheetal and more because of failing as a husband again and again for Khushi… He never felt so defeated in his life… Second time his Harvard sharp brain forgot to use common sense, first time being about Shyam fiasco.

He requested for privacy and sat there alone in his cabin thinking… The truth was always out there… Sheetal always trying to hog his time, pushing Aarav on him… Aarav was always behaving like his carbon copy, walking, talking, eating and being angry just like him… No kid can be exactly like his parents unless he is taught… Then Sheetal always is trying to involve him in Aarav’s activities, be it school sports, cultural activities or playing a board games at home… She made sure to act like they there were a family, that too in front of Khushi! How much insanely insecure Khushi must have felt?

Di also mentioned how Sheetal portrayed them were closest buddies, dated during college days. As if they were awesome twosome in college and with her son they will awesome threesome… Seeing your husband’s past and a son in your own home every day is not a joke… Khushi must have died hundred deaths when Sheetal implied Aarav being his son by her behavior…

Now he realized the insecurity was purposely created by Sheetal… To create differences between them and break their marriage…

Yet Khushi did not do a DNA test and trusted him? She believed in him truly and could see through Sheetal’s façade…

He knew instantly his own behavior has hit the lowest point ever in his life! Even when his Ma died, he was immensely in pain but at least it was not his fault… Today he has to own his sins…

He decided to go home immediately and take charge of the situation… Khushi is right… Had he trusted her before, he would have got report on Sheetal much earlier…

“Khushi, what a pleasant surprise…. So we have a celebrity and TV personality at home now… Congrats…” Arnav could hear some celebrations going on at home with everyone congratulating Khushi.

“What is going on?” Arnav tried to get involved knowing it’s about Khushi…

“Guess what? Khushi happened to go to watch Karan’s shoot along with Sia and Jia… The producer had some discussions going on baby food ad. They saw Khushi interacting and being so easy, friendly with the baby and baby reciprocating her so well, producer and director offered her an assignment to do few ads for the baby product…. Isn’t it a fabulous opportunity?” Anjali was so excited for Khushi…

Arnav was shocked… Of course he knows his wife is beautiful… And her antics and facial expressions are well known… But he never thought she could be offered an ad assignment that too on the spot…

“So Khushi, did you sign the assignment already?” He is curious…

“No I am still thinking about it but sounds like a great opportunity…” She is excited too.

“Arnavji, I think I should do the ads… its baby food products and they will shoot different ads in just couple of days and offered me really good amount of money…” Khushi told him in one go as soon as they reached their room…

“Khushi, we have so much money… Why would you need more money?” Arnav did not like her thinking about money when she is his wife…

“Imagine Arnavji, they offered me great amount of money. So I can fix deposit the money for my parents and it will help them run their monthly expenses and also medical expenses. It’s a great opportunity for me with just one weekend of work… They offered me 40 Lakhs.” Khushi explained.

Arnav could see Khushi has a valid point and an opportunity to settle her parents. He did not want to deny her that chance…

“Ok, take Di or Payal with you on your shoot…” Arnav agreed.

“Are you kidding me? Whole family especially Mamiji and even Naniji are going on the shoot… And my friends will be around too” Khushi explained how she will have at least 10 people around her… he smiled thinking about his crazy family…

Sheetal got to know about Khushi’s ad assignment on TV and she was jealous as hell… That will bring Arnav even closer to her…

“Khushi congrats… It’s easy to get such opportunities when you are ASR’s wife…” Sheetal could not help pass a sarcastic comment… Even Naniji looked angrily at her arrogance…

“Unfortunately they don’t know I am a Raizada that too ASR’s wife yet and I am sure they would respect it more to have Mrs. ASR representing their product line… And I can always use Arnav’s name, in fact it is part of my name and identity… After all he is my husband… But not everyone is opportunist like you Sheetal… You got job because ASR is your friend and you are staying here like forever… At least you shouldn’t talk like that… And you were supposed to move into your own apartment in like couple of days three weeks ago, isn’t that right? But you are becoming permanent guest for ASR and family!” Spat came a reply from Khushi… Everyone looked at Khushi who usually never replied like this but Sheetal truly deserved it for mocking Khushi…

“Sheetal, it reminds me what happened to your accommodation? You don’t seem to be in a hurry to move out… I have never seen you looking for an apartment or calling agent. And do you have any manners how to talk to people especially Khushi who has gone out of her way to help you out?” Arnav asked her giving her a disgusting look… He was really happy that Khushi put her in place…

“ASR, the issue is that…” Sheetal was fumbling by now… Her luck and aspirations to lure ASR and be here permanently were going down south with her every attempt…

“Don’t bother to tell me anything if you have some other excuse now... I will have Aman to move you in AR apartments first thing tomorrow. Pack your stuff after dinner” Arnav purposely pushed her to see her next move… This time he was ready to throw her out as soon as possible…

Nani, Anjali and everyone else could feel sudden friction in the air… But they also felt Sheetal should move on in her own life and RM itself was getting busy with the baby onboard, Khushi with her college education and Anjali joining AR… Now the focus was shifted to their own family members.

Sheetal was aghast… How her comment again backfired on her so bad…? And even family was surprised with Khushi and Arnav’s choice of words… They were brutal with Sheetal… But somewhere agreed and kept quiet since they also could see Sheetal was clearly taking advantage of situation and trying to prolong her stay… No one has ever seen her talking to her realtor or even mentioning about moving out… She was almost acting like a family member, comfortably using RM luxuries!

Sheetal needed to pull some trick overnight and stars didn’t seem to favor her this time. But she wasn’t one of those to go down without trying…

Chapter 8 – Arnav and his Guilt Trip!

It was a hard day for Arnav since he came to know Sheetal’s purpose of entering in Raizada Mansion…

“Khushi has always been naïve and angel at heart! But I should have never let Sheetal enter in RM, I could have simply asked Aman to provide her accommodation. How could I ever ignore my Khushi and hurt her like that?” Arnav was on pool side thinking…

“Ma, somehow I always hurt her… Intentionally or unintentionally but I end up hurting her… I am such a bad husband for her… I don’t deserve her at all…”Arnav confessed to his mom looking in the sky…

“Can I do something to erase last month from her and my memory…?” A lone tear escaped from his eyes remembering how many days he has been sitting down with Sheetal and Aarav purposely.

He has seen her crest fallen face every single time, seen her twisting and turning in the bed and crying herself to sleep…

How your heart could not melt at her anguish, you stone hearted monster? His heart chided him…

Khushi noticed Arnav pushing Sheetal to pack her stuff so she can move to AR apartment, suddenly what must have happened for him to take such a drastic decision to force Sheetal to move out overnight? She was curious…

“Arnavji, why are you sitting alone in the dark?” Khushi walked towards pool after not finding him in the bedroom…

“Nothing Khushi, just wanted to sit here for a while… Wanted to talk to ma…” Arnav couldn’t help but hold her hand and forced her to sit next to him…

“What happened Arnavji?” Khushi asked trying to figure out his mood…

He looked exhausted, burdened with something but unable to convey, she started feeling worried… Usually he talked to ma whenever he is truly upset or angry or looking for some guidance… Sometimes he vented out angrily or complained about her cutely too… And of course told his mom how much he loves Khushi! But today he wasn’t talking at all…

“Nothing Khushi, maybe be just missed you so much in last few days… Can I sleep in your lap?” He asked her unable to meet her eyes…

“Of course Arnavji, what is there to ask?” She slowly started moving her fingers through his silky waves of hair…

He was at peace after a long time…

She could feel looking at his frown that he is developing a slight headache… So she started massaging his forehead slowly… He looked at her surprised…

“What?” She asked him not knowing why he is looking at her like that.

“How do you know I am having a headache…?” Arnav asked her back curiously…

“Come on Arnavji, I can read you well… Rather we read each other well… Now relax and let me give you a nice massage…” She started doing magic with her fingers to relax him a bit…

“Yeah right, that’s why I was sitting there for hours with Sheetal and Aarav ignoring you and letting her insult you or treat you bad just because I was angry at you…”Arnav suddenly hated himself and got up from her lap…

“Khushi, I am too tired and am going to sleep…” Khushi could not understand what just happened… Is he still mad at her or himself or she has something else in store for her? A lone tear escaped from her eyes but she decided to give him time and sat there on pool side looking at the sky…

“Khushi, you also come and sleep… Again tomorrow you have classes and busy long day!” He asked Khushi to sleep as well… Arnav knew she might be crying so he wanted to stop her sitting alone and cry… But he just could not have the courage to face her anymore… He needed a little time to recover from the detective’s report and act on throwing Sheetal and her spoilt brat son first… Maybe it’s not the kid’s fault but he could care less…

After some time, Khushi came inside and could see Arnav sleeping with a frown still intact on his forehead… She decided they could tackle it together later if he opens up… Or maybe not…

“Khushi, please don’t leave me and go…” Arnav almost screamed and got up in the middle of the night sweating profusely…

“What happened Arnavji? What is bothering you so much?” Khushi asked switching her bed side lamp and offered him water…

He just held her hand and pulled her closer and looked in sheer panic…

“Khushi, you will never leave me alone and go away right?” Arnav asked her honestly… Khushi hated to see him like that… His insecurities hovering all over him making him panic with low self-esteem! It’s so not her Arnavji…

“Arnavji, look at me please… I thought you read me so well… I am always like an open book for you and so transparent for you right?” Khushi asked him genuinely… He nodded like a kid…

“We can feel each other’s presence from our heart right?” She asked him further…

“Did you forget all that? Or does it not matter anymore?” She asked him again…

“Khushi, don’t ever say that…” He pulled her in a tight hug and never wanted to leave her… He kissed all over her face…

“Khushi, I don’t exist without you… I was living like a stone before you came into my life and you brought love and life into me…”Arnav replied honestly still the guilt hovering on his face…

“Then read me, do you still think I will run away from my love or my own family? This is all mine, my family and my home…” She assured him… He smiled at her simple words…

“By the way Arnavji, did you hear all the wows during our marriage...? We are tied to each other 7 lives now… I don’t see any luck for you or me… We are stuck with each other… And all those witches hover around you, they don’t stand a chance… I will pull their hair off and show them their place…” Khushi added jokingly…

Arnav smiled at her…

“And what should I do to keep you with me forever and not allow any other guy around you?” Arnav asked her feeling lite… He smiled again at her antics…

“Do what Salman Khan does… Or maybe not… Original Arnavji with ASR style is better… Be possessive about me, be romantic and be always around me… Like you used to be during jiji’s marriage and before our marriage second time…” She expressed herself feeling so shy and blushing…

“I see, so someone wants her husband to dance to her tunes… Is it? Not possible but I will try” Arnav teased her…

“Haw Laad Governor, first asks and then refuses to do it… Its 3 am in the morning… Sleep now...” She pushed him and they slept peacefully in each other’s arms…

She will have to wait for him to open up and tell her what made him get nightmare again and what is he really worried about? She was ready to wait because she knew her Laad Governor always takes his own sweet time…

“Emotions and Laad Governor, not easy to express and handle” She sighed…

“Hopefully I am able to kick that Sheetal out without hurting my Khushi a minute more! Hopefully Sheetal gets the hell out of here without any more drama and her tricks! I have to be with Khushi all the time now…” He wished against all odds… Knowing how low Sheetal can go, he was worried for the safety of his family especially his Khushi…

“The sooner I get rid of her, better it is” Arnav slept with a new found determination in his mind!
